AGM\/Cheese and Wine Evening<\/strong> \u2013 the last event for the 2022\/3 season \u2013 Tony\u2019s swan-song as chairman, a fine spread of food and wine, with the usual fun and games over a fiendish quiz set by Joanna and David \u2013 another altogether enjoyable social gathering for members and guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subject \u2013 <\/strong>\u201cThe History and work of the National Gardens Scheme \u2013 with particular reference to Gloucestershire\u201d. Included was an illustrated tour of some selected local gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harriet Rycroft<\/strong> \u2013 former Head Gardener at Whichford Pottery
Subject <\/strong>\u2013 \u201cPlanting in Containers\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our speaker was Harriet Rycroft , former Head Gardener at Whichford Pottery, and known as the \u201cqueen of containers\u201d. She is now a career gardener and author having written a book entitled \u201d Pots\u201d, a comprehensive handbook which covers everything you need to know about growing plants in pots all year round, no matter how small or large your space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vegetable growing workshop\/Q&A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a very special evening with our local expert Gerald Stratford who regaled us with his stories of a new-found media career which started with him \u201cgoing viral with his spuds\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheese, Wine and Pate Evening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed a fine social evening in Milton Village Hall, with a cheese\/pate supper and wine, a quiz and a raffle \u2013 all excellently arranged by committee members.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
