AGM/Cheese and Wine Evening – the last event for the 2022/3 season – Tony’s swan-song as chairman, a fine spread of food and wine, with the usual fun and games over a fiendish quiz set by Joanna and David – another altogether enjoyable social gathering for members and guests.

Vanessa Berridge
Subject – “The History and work of the National Gardens Scheme – with particular reference to Gloucestershire”. Included was an illustrated tour of some selected local gardens.

Harriet Rycroft – former Head Gardener at Whichford Pottery
Subject – “Planting in Containers”

Our speaker was Harriet Rycroft , former Head Gardener at Whichford Pottery, and known as the “queen of containers”. She is now a career gardener and author having written a book entitled ” Pots”, a comprehensive handbook which covers everything you need to know about growing plants in pots all year round, no matter how small or large your space.

This was a very special evening with our local expert Gerald Stratford who regaled us with his stories of a new-found media career which started with him “going viral with his spuds” on social media.

Cheese, Wine and Pate Evening

We enjoyed a fine social evening in Milton Village Hall, with a cheese/pate supper and wine, a quiz and a raffle – all excellently arranged by committee members.
